A writer, editor, and podcaster, C Bryan Jones has worked in media for 27 years. Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, he moved to Japan in 1997 and has been involved in Tokyo’s media community over the past 25 years as a designer, art director, writer, and editor. A science fiction fan since he first saw Star Wars on the big screen in 1977, Jones is heavily involved in the sf community and has been analyzing storytelling for the past 22 years through written commentary and, since 2010, podcasts, building the TFM Podcast Network, an early featured content provider for Apple. Currently he hosts or co-hosts six podcasts on TFM: The Ready Room, The Orb, Interphase, The Artificial Tango, Saddle Up! and Warp Five.

Clifford Land

CONCEPT ARTIST

Considered a master by his peers, artist Clifford Land paints realistically' by mastering light and shadow. Falling into the category of hyper-realism, his work often entails a softer, more complex focus of his subject, no matter the scale. His works are meticulously detailed to create the illusion of a reality that mirrors the original subject. Applying his trade to the world of large-scale advertising, Land took on a number of billboard projects over a dozen years. These projects varied from beautifying exteriors for commercial appeal to creating a message no one could ignore. His work has been seen all over the world, including the infamous DKNY Houston St. mural showcasing the Big Apple skyline in the company’s name.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

David Kushnir is a creative director, movie producer, event and art production manager, and real estate broker. Emigrating to the U.S.in 1996, David lives in Manhattan and spends time between The Hamptons and Florida. A renaissance man with knowledge in property management, construction, and art, David managed the contracting for the reconstruction of N.Y. art exhibition space Larry Rivers Studio. This space was commemorated for “Grandfather of North American Pop Art” Larry Rivers. Through building a community of creatives, David managed large-scale arts events. These events helped David segue into movie production, demonstrating his many creative and financial skills by helping other filmmakers with their projects.

Emiliano Topete

Animation professional Emiliano Topete is a co-founder of DBP. He serves as showrunner, executive producer, and director of animation. Since he was a child living in Mexico City, he has held a lifelong fascination with animation. Since 2005, he has developed a career in digital design and animation in several TV networks and studios since 2005. Through the Televisa Network, he joined the project “Imaginates” where he developed content as an animation director. He founded his own production company Polygon Studio in 2013. Emiliano took the helm on his first animated series “Zaly” in 2018 for Canal 11 Network. Passionate about both the process and history of cartoons, Emiliano is also an academic in the field of animation. .

Hayato Ogawa

MANAGING DIRECTOR

A co-founder of DBP, professor Hayato Ogawa has been teaching at the International College of Kanazawa for more than a decade. His background is in electrical and electronic engineering, and the engineering design principles to turn STEAM projects into successful prototypes. Hayato studied at both the Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Later, he worked at McIntosh Laboratories and EMA Design Automation to glean practical knowledge of various technical processes. Hayato is an active participant in social innovation projects, working with Singapore Polytechnic and other universities in Thailand and Indonesia. He’s also an advocate of sustainable living practices created through emerging technologies. Hayato holds two Japanese-only industrial property rights.

Nigel P. Beatty

Nigel P. Beatty lives in Monaco and runs several companies that have diversified investments around the world. These include tech start-ups, maritime businesses, commercial real estate investments, alternative energy, health insurance companies; and now animation. Nigel started his career in 1989 in the British Royal Navy and after finishing, went on to Captain some of the world’s most prestigious superyachts. In 2004 he started forming and acquiring companies and investing in things he found interesting. Nigel spends his time working from his offices in Monaco, UK, and Japan.

Ricardo Caria a Concept artist with experience in visual development for the videogame, animation and advertising industry. I started my career in Silicon valley freelancing for a variety of companies after finishing my BFA in Illustration at the Academy of Art university. Since then I have worked in a variety of markets creating enticing pieces of visual communications businesses, with special focus on videogame experience. for art direction i worked as an art director for a short animation called lets eat and a AR game called ARcade

Royi Akavia Co Founder of DBP is an internationally-renowned visual artist whose work has been sold and enjoyed all over the world. Starting his career in the 1980s New York art movements in East Village and SoHo, Royi has developed large followings for his art and animation projects in NYC, LA, Miami Beach, Holland, Venezuela, Japan, and Israel. Bringing over 30 years of experience as an artist, animator, and art director, Royi was a driving force behind the early childhood education “Move to Learn” apps created by New York’s Columbia University. Royi has a long and rich history of contributions to animation, working as a showrunner, executive producer, director of animation, MTV Beach House in Holland, animtion projects with PBS, “Barney & Friends,” “The Sunny Side Up Show,” and Comcast.

Thibaut Falgairette

Author, composer and performer, Thibaut Falgairette, born in 1984 in Marseille, France, began as a child a classical training pianist then pursuing a guitar apprenticeship. Former student of the ATLA school of Paris, he made his weapons with masters such as Claude Worms, Alexis Didier, Renato Velasco, or Jacques Labarriere. During this time, he went deeper in theory, harmony and instrumental techniques, continuing his program of thesis in classical literature at The Sorbonne and then at University of Lausanne. He studied guitar and harmonics with André Decosterd before passing an AVCEM degree in harmony at the Jazz School of Lausanne : EJMA. Besides composing music for films, podcasts and TV, he composed three albums of a Tetralogy project called : Sounds of Life. The last album is in production.
